Post and Education Qualification
Professor / Director(DD & OE)-Pay Matrix Academic level -14 of 7th CPC, (144200-218200)) Eligibility (A or B):
(I) An eminent scholar having a Ph.D. degree in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline,
and published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with, a minimum of 10 research publications in the peer-reviewed or
UGC-listed journals /UGC CARE LIST and a total research score of 120 as per the criteria given in Appendix II, Table 2 of UGC Regulations July 2018.
A minimum of ten years of teaching experience in university / college as Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor, and /
or research experience at equivalent level at the University/National Level Institutions with evidence of having successfully guided doctoral candidate.
An outstanding professional, naving Ph.D. degree in the relevant/allied/applied disciplines, from any Academic Institution,industry,
who has made significant contribution to the knowledge in the concerned allied relevant discipline supported by documentary evidence provided he/she has ten years’ experience.
Desirable qualification for the post of Professor in The Business School and Computer Science &IT:
1. Candidates with Professional / Industry experience in reputed Institutions/ organizations are encouraged to apply and will b preferred.
2.Candidates who have demonstrated leadership in planning and Academic Administration/ Professional Activities and have undertaken / lead consultancy and related activities will b preferred.

(i) A Ph.D. in Physical Education or Physical Education and Sports or Sports Science.
(ii) Experience of at least ten years in Physical Education and Sports as University Assistant/Deputy DPES or ten years as College DPES or
teaching for ten years in Physical Education and Sports or Sports Science as Assistant/Associate Professor.
(ii)however Evidence of organizing competitions and coaching camps of at least two weeks’ duration.
(iv) Meanwhile Evidence of having produced good performance of teams/athletes for competitions like state/national/inter university/combined university, etc.

i) A Master’s Degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation Science with at
least 55% marks or an equivalent grade in a point -scale wherever the grading system is followed.
(i) At least ten years as a Librarian at any level in University Library or ten years of teaching as Assistant/ Associate
Professor in Library Science or ten years’ experience as a College Librarian.
(ii) however Evidence of innovative library services, including the integration of ICT in a library. (iv) A Ph.D. Degree in library science/information
science/documentation /archives and manuscript-keeping.
Associate Professor – Pay Matrix Academic Level 13A of 7h CPC, (131400-217100)
A good academic record, with a Ph.D. Degree in the concerned/allied/relevant disciplines.
A Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale, wherever the grading system is followed).
Therefore A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and / or research in an academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or
Accredited Research Institution/industry with a minimum of seven publications in the peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals and
a total research score of Seventy five (75) as per the criteria given in Appendix II, Table 2 of UGC Guidelines July 2018.

Desirable qualification for the post of Associate Professor in Computer Science & IT, The Business School and Bhaderwah Campus(MBA& Computer Science) :
Candidates with Professional / Industry experience in reputed Institutions/ organizations are encouraged to apply and will b preferred.
Assistant Professor -Pay Matrix Academic Level -10 of 7h CPC, (57700-182400)
Eligibility (A or B):
i) Good Academic record as defined by the concerned University with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed)
at the Master’s Degree level in concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University.
ii) Meanwhile A relaxation of 5% may b provided at the graduate and master’s level for the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/ Differently-abled
(physically and visually differently-abled) categories for the purpose of eligibility and for assessing good academic record during direct recruitment to teaching positions.
Therefore The eligibility of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in apoint scale wherever grading system is followed) and the
relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible, based on only the qualifying marks without including any grace marks procedures.
iii) Meanwhile A relaxation of 5% may b provided, from 55% to 50% of the marks to the Ph.D. Degree holders, who have obtained their Master’s Degree prior to 19 September, 1991

iv) further The National Eligibility Test (NET) or an accredited test (State Level Eligibility Test SLET/SET) shall remain the minimum
eligibility for appointment of Assistant Professor and equivalent positions wherever provided in these Regulations.
Further, SLET/SET shall b valid as the minimum eligibility for direct recruitment to Universities/Colleges/Institutions in the respective state only:
v) further Provided that candidates who have beeen awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission
(Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulation, 2009, or the University Grants Commission
(Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.PhilPh.D. Degree) Regulation, 2016, and their subsequent amendments from time to time, as the case may b,
shall b exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or
any equivalent position in any University , College or Institution.
vi) Provided further that the award of degree to candidates registered for the M.Phil/Ph.D.programme prior to July l1, 2009,
shall b governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances / Bye-laws / Regulations of the Institutions awarding the degree.
However AIl such Ph.D. candidates shall b exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor
or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions subject to the fulfillment of the following conditions:
a) The Ph.D. degree of the candidate has ben awarded in regular mode only;
b) The Ph.D. thesis has ben awarded by at least two external examiners;
An open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate has ben conducted;
Therefore The candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work out of which at least one is in a referred journal;
e) further The candidate has presented at least two papers, based on his/her Ph.D. work in conferences/seminars sponsored/funded/supported by the UGC/ ICSSR/CSIR or any similar agency
vii) Fulfillment of these conditions is to b certified by the Registrar or the Dean (Academic Affairs) of the

(ii) the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Shanghai).
However Desirable qualification for the post of Assistant Professor in Kathua Campus(MBA):

Assistant Professor (Remote Sensing & GIS) – Pay Matrix Academic Level -10 of 7 CPC, (57700-182400)
A. Master’s Degree in Remote Sensing & GIS with NET/SET/SLET in the relevant subject with not less than 55% of marks
Master’s Degree in Geology/Geography/Botany/Agriculture/ Environmental Sciences with PG Diploma in Remote Sensing & GIS and NET/SET/SLET in the Relevant Subject with not less than 55% marks.
In case of candidates having Master’s Degree in Geology /Geography /Botany/Agriculture/Environmental Sciences,
preference shall b given to candidates having substantive research and publications in Remote Sensing & GIS at the PhD. Level.
B= Provided, however, that candidates, who are or have ben awarded Ph.D. degree in compliance of the University Grants Commission
