In a recent review meeting, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha reiterated the commitment to achieving ‘Health for All’ in Jammu and Kashmir by emphasizing the efficient, effective, and equitable delivery of healthcare services. One of the key directives highlighted during the meeting was to refer the vacant posts in the Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) to the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) and the Public Service Commission (PSC).
The focus on filling these vacant positions aims to bolster the healthcare workforce in the region, ensuring that medical facilities can operate optimally and cater to the healthcare needs of the population effectively. By involving the JKSSB and PSC in the recruitment process, the administration aims to streamline the staffing procedures and address any gaps in manpower within SKIMS.
Moreover, the meeting delved into various other crucial aspects of healthcare infrastructure development in the Union Territory. Discussions included progress updates on vital projects such as the Cancer Institute in Jammu, the Bone & Joint Hospital in Jammu, and the extension of the Labour Room at SMGS Hospital, among others.
Additionally, initiatives such as the operationalization of the Integrated Ayush Hospital at Harwan and achievements under the National Health Mission and Ayushman Bharat campaign were reviewed. These efforts underscore a comprehensive approach towards enhancing healthcare services and promoting well-being across the region.
The emphasis on referring vacant posts in SKIMS to the JKSSB and PSC reflects a strategic move towards strengthening the healthcare system in Jammu and Kashmir, ultimately aiming to improve healthcare accessibility and quality for all residents.
